Suits in the City is only the picture from the outside.

Banking & Finance is a huge, varied sector where markets move quickly, detail matters and innovation is always pushing against regulation, risk and established ways of doing things. Digital banks and fintechs prove there is plenty of room to rethink the model, but every new idea still has to find its way through the machinery.

BANKING & FINANCE

Suits in the City is only the picture from the outside.

Banking & Finance is a huge, varied sector where markets move quickly, detail matters and innovation is always pushing against regulation, risk and established ways of doing things. Digital banks and fintechs prove there is plenty of room to rethink the model, but every new idea still has to find its way through the machinery.

Sales and Marketing help turn that possibility into something people will trust.

How Can We Help?

BANKING & FINANCE

In Banking & Finance, more business is not automatically better business. A customer may want the product and the salesperson may be able to sell it, but there are still questions around suitability, affordability, risk, underwriting, approval and whether the outcome makes sense for both sides.

Sales professionals with experience in the sector learn how to work within that tension. They need to understand what the customer is trying to achieve, but also what Credit, Risk, Underwriting or Compliance will need before the business can say yes.

Marketing works with a similar constraint. Financial products can be complicated, but making them easier to understand cannot mean making the cost, risk or limitations disappear in the process. Strong people simplify complexity without disguising what the customer needs to know.

The Banking & Finance Economy

Banking & Finance covers retail and commercial banking, lending, insurance, payments, fintech, wealth and investment, pensions and other financial services.

It is a large part of the UK economy. Financial services account for around 8% of UK GVA and were estimated to employ approximately 1.36 million people in 2025. (GOV.UK)

Ireland also has a substantial financial-services economy spanning domestic banking, insurance, international financial services, funds, payments and related activities. Financial and Insurance Activities generated approximately €21.9 billion in GVA in 2025. The figure was down 6.6% from 2024, illustrating that even within a large financial-services economy, performance can move materially with market conditions. (Central Statistics Office)

Within that economy, however, experience is not automatically transferable. Consumer banking, SME lending, commercial insurance, wealth, payments and fintech may all sit under the same sector heading while involving very different customers, distribution models, risk decisions and buying processes.
