What data we collect

We may collect and process your name and contact details, your CV and professional information, your employment and education history, and, if you accept analytics cookies, your IP address and browsing behaviour on this website.

How and why we use your data

We use your data to match professionals with relevant roles, to contact potential clients or professionals where we have a legitimate interest, and to improve our website and services through analytics.

Legal basis for processing

We process personal data on the basis of legitimate interest, where there is a genuine and relevant reason to contact you. You have the right to object at any time.

If you apply for a role or send us your details through this website, you consent to us processing your data for recruitment purposes.

Where your data is held

This website runs on Wix, which stores the forms you submit. Records of the professionals and clients we work with are kept in Recruit CRM, our recruitment database. Newsletter subscribers are kept in MailerLite. If you accept cookies, Google Analytics and PostHog record how the site is used. Each acts as a data processor for us and keeps your data under contract.

Cookies and analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this website, including which pages and adverts lead to an enquiry. Google Analytics sets cookies and is run by Google as our processor. Nothing is set until you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner. If you choose "Reject", no analytics or advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the foot of every page.

With the same permission, we use PostHog to record how pages are used, such as where visitors click and how far they scroll, so we can make the site easier to use. PostHog stores this data in the EU, acts as our processor, and does not keep your IP address. Anything you type into a form is masked and is not recorded. If you choose "Reject", nothing is recorded.

We also remember your cookie choice in your browser, so we don't ask on every visit. That record is not a tracking cookie and is not shared with anyone.

Data sharing

We will never sell your data. We only share your details with a prospective employer when you have agreed to it.

Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it. CVs are reviewed every year and removed if they are no longer relevant or active.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict how we process it, and in some cases take it with you. To use any of these rights, email hello@mrktsearch.com.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
