The reality of a new role can often be very different from expectations.
Not every leap has to be into the unknown.
Your whole life is meaningfully shaped by a small handful of decisions: what you choose to study, where you choose to live and who you choose to work for.
I've been there.
I have experienced periods in my own career where I felt stifled.
I knew I was capable of more, but I wasn't in the right environment to achieve it.
At best, that feeling itches at your brain. At worst, the Sunday scaries run riot.
Most people want to feel valued, contribute meaningfully and know their work is taking them somewhere. Sometimes, changing role is the clearest way to make that possible, sometimes weariness or other factors are clouding your judgement.
Talking with an experienced impartial advisor to untangle all your thoughts and perspectives is always useful before making any big decisions.
Good recruitment should serve the good of the professional as well as the employer.
A strong match depends on properly understanding the people I represent: what they can do, what matters to them and the kind of environment in which they are most likely to thrive.

As a professional represented by MRKTSEARCH you can expect:
A well informed introduction
Hiring businesses will understand your motivations, strengths, achievements and distinctive value before you arrive.
That means the interview can focus on expanding on those areas, exploring the opportunity and deciding whether there is a genuine connection on both sides.
Interview Feedback
Feedback matters when you want to improve. Our clients understand that we value candid observations, so you can take something useful from the experience even when the role does not prove to be the right one.
Honesty and critical evaluation
If your experience and skills are not being communicated clearly enough to demonstrate your value, we will tell you.
We will work with you to identify what is being missed and help you present your experience with greater clarity and impact.
Sales and marketing professionals sit in an unusual space.
Their fundamental abilities can apply to many sectors, but gathering context of how certain industries operate quickly enough to make impact can take longer than some businesses can wait to see a return.
This is not to say that there shouldn't be cross sector, cross audience fluidity, rather extra scrutiny to understand the liklihood of successful adaptation.
Across this site, I have written about 14 distinct industries, each with its own pressures, commercial context and recognisable characteristics. Those observations come from my first-hand experience of recruiting within those markets over many years.
This depth of context is valuable for the professionals I work with because recruiting a sales or marketing professional well is considerably more nuanced than matching a job title to a CV.

There's more than meets the eye.
One of the best traits to look for in someone assessing a career opportunity is the ability to ask the right questions.
I have always been inquisitive, but 20 years of recruitment experience teaches you to ask questions that would not naturally occur to most people.
For a fairly typical mid-level sales or marketing role, I can easily ask 30 questions before we even reach the person specification.
I want to understand the team, the market, the sales cycle, the competition, the barriers to sale, the buying process, the culture and what success will actually look like.
That allows me to calibrate the opportunity for you far better than any job advert could.
One of the limitations of recruitment is that we can’t work individually on behalf of everyone we speak to to find their next role.
But if we understand your skills, experience and ambitions, you’re far more likely to be front of mind when the right opportunity comes up.
